1. Solve the simultaneous equations 2y – x = 1 and xy + x2 = 26.
[4 marks]
xy + x2 = 26 …………….. 1
2y – x = 1
x = 1 – 2y ……………….. 2
Substitute 2 in 1
Sigh...
Shouldn't it be x=2y-1? =P
